Visit to India

In december, Gurpreet and I finally had the chance to visit India after a long awaited period and the first time since we got married in 2005. The trip was fantastic, we got to see the family, attend 2 weddings and a reception party, travel to Mumbai and Rajasthan.

Wow! so much has changed their since the last time we were there. Its the spirit of the people there which just amazes us and makes us feel at home. Can't wait to go back more often on a regular basis.

Amsterdam at 7am

We had a 7 hr layover in Amsterdam on the way back to Seattle from Delhi. Instead of sitting at the airport, we decided to check out the city at 7am. Not a lot was open.....

Trip to Neemrana Fort in Rajasthan

After getting back from Bombay, Gurpreet, Tisha, Tushar and I took a quick 2Hr trip the next day from Delhi to go visit the restored Neemrana fort in Rajasthan.

Amit and Kanikas wedding: The Wedding @ the race course

The wedding itself took place on the 22nd night at the Race Course in Bombay. Wearing a woolen suit was probably a very bad idea on my part considering the temperature was in the 80's....

The wedding itself was grand and we had tons of fun being part of the Barat. Yes Kanika, we represented Amit's side and and not you. You should have paid us more.....

Amit & Kanika's wedding: Sangeet party @ the Leela

From Delhi, we flew to Bombay on the 20th to attend Amit and Kanika's wedding. Had a great time there and Gurpreet got to see a little bit of Bombay or should i say Mumbai.

The first night there, we attended the Sangeet party prior to the wedding at the Leela hotel.

Hem uncle and Jaishri aunty took us out for dinner in Connaught Place, Delhi. While there, we stumbled onto the newly renovated Metro park right in the center. A beautiful sight....

From Ludhiana,Punjab we drove to Dehradun, Garhwal to visit the Grandparents. What a surreal place and it was so good to see everyone at home...

While in India, we got a chance to travel to Ludhiana, Amritsar and Dehradhun to visit family. While in Ludhiana, Dad took us out for dinner at the Haveli Dhaba in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.

We went up to Amritsar to visit Harmander Sahib after we got into Ludhiana on the 15th. It was just an amazing feeling to be there let alone how peaceful it made you feel.

We got into Delhi early early mornign on the 9th. Most of the family from Dehradun got in the same day and we all had dinner together at Neelu Buas in the evening....

The reception ended and the DJ went home, but noody in the family wanted to leave. So the brothers came to the rescue with their own creative singing by the lead man himself, Aman!!!

After the engagement in the morning, we had a big party at night to celebrate the newly engaged couple and have the customary exchange of the RINGS!

We were up in Vancouver, BC this weekend to attend my brother Nikhils engagement ceremony to Nupur, another beautiful addition to our family!
